WILMINGTON – Massachusetts State Police are searching for the driver of a pickup truck who sped away from being stopped on Interstate 93 Friday morning.
Police say a trooper pulled over the 2010 Toyota Tacoma with three occupants at around 12:20 a.m. on 93 south just prior to Exit 40, Route 62.
Though the truck initially stopped for the trooper, police say it then sped away toward Exit 40 onto Route 62. When the truck started driving away, a passenger in the backseat fell out and suffered non-life threatening injuries.
The passenger was transported to a nearby medical facility by emergency medical services to be treated for said injuries.
Police are conducting a follow-up investigation into the truck and its occupants.
